About Us
∙The Black Entrepreneurs Alliance (B.E.A.) is a not-for-profit. company as per Section 1 of the Companies Act and as such registered with the CIPC .
∙BEA is an advocacy group established in 2021 in order to represent the financially marginalized and economically secluded black entrepreneurs from the capital value chain. Therefore, established for public benefit.
∙B.E.A. works with other organisations and individuals to research, produce and interpret data to understand challenges that hamper economic advancement for Black Entrepreneurs. B.E.A. advocates for practical solutions to create better access to finance, affordable loans and wealth creation tools for Black entrepreneurs.
∙We believe that we are an objective formation that partners and collaborates with other like-minded structures across the public, private, and social sectors to champion policy biased socio-economic policies that sets Black Entrepreneurs up for success.
Our Advocacy Campaigns
∙ The cost of not paying small businesses on time.
∙ There is ‘a real need to have a new wave of black industrialists.
∙ Obtaining the necessary statutory permitting approvals and licences to
operate in a timely and cost-effective manner is a major challenge to
mine development in South Africa.
∙ Load-shedding affects livelihood of small businesses.
∙ Riots and looting add to the woes of black SMEs.
∙ BEA calls for a tax break to assist SMEs to avoid job losses.
∙ Looted black-owned businesses left in the cold because they do not
have the resources to supply the basic paperwork required for the
applications.

Our Strategic Objectives
∙We seek to lobby legislators, rating agencies, credit bureaus and economic thinks tanks to genuinely create sustainable space for black entrepreneurs to thrive.
∙To develop investments, access to equitable finance, educational programmes, commission research and elevate national consideration of the inseparable link between the economic health of the Black Entrepreneurs and the entire South African economy.
∙The B.E.A. seeks to influence economic policies to create genuine, sustainable economic empowerment in the Black communities and society at large.
